This map covers 40 river miles on Big Wood River from its headwaters near Galena Summit in the Sawtooth Mountain Range then down south to Magic Reservoir. In addition the map covers 45 miles of Silver Creek from Silver Creek Preserve to Richfield. All public fishing access points and areas, Boat Launches, River Mileages, Hatch charts, Campgrounds, Public/Private Land and more. These are the best maps ever created for these famous trout streams in Idaho.

Below the confluence of the North Fork, the "Wood" begins to level out some and the flows become more normal. The huge rocks become few and far between and the
streambed is make up mostly of cobble and smaller stones. The stream takes on a more
classic freestone appearance with long pools, riffles and runs and of course, its defining cottonwood trees along its banks.

What makes Silver Creek so special is the  combination of Big and wild fish, stunning views, and amazing aquatic insect hatches. Thanks to The Nature Conservancy, 476-acres of Silver Creek was preserved in 1976 in what became the first spring creek restoration project of its type in North America. The Silver Creek Preserve now covers more than 10,000-acres of prime trout, waterfowl and moose habitat—to name a few of the species who thrive at “The Creek.”
